Random stuff

I'm sitting in class now listening to the attribute method for marketing research.

Really owned by all the projects and reports... Look forward to the end of next week!

Decided to share my view here on some random stuff here.

Last Monday Swee msn-ed online and told me that one of his platoon mates passed away in the motorcycle accident. Although I am only an acquaintance with him, I still feel quite sad. We are of the same age and there must be so many things which he has yet to do. I'm sure that the parents must be devastated.

By the way I have already got my internship for the summer; will be doing marketing stuff for GT&T Engineering from 21 April to 30 June. My job scope is to assist in the generation of product pamphlet and research for product use for customer presentation. Sounds simple enough and hopefully I can learn something useful as well.

Went to the National Stadium twice in the past week to catch Singapore play. Australia match on Saturday was boring because of the heavy pitch but Wednesday was much better. Singapore played Lebanon off the park and could have won 6-0.

Realised that Singapore is really a ball-playing side. The defenders either pass or dribble instead of clearing it long upfield. Our right-back no.5 was very impressive in the match. The midfield looked assured. The attack created a lot of chances but missed a lot as well.

Close to half-time, Lionel Lewis was carded for a silly incident. The ball boy failed to return the ball fast enough (the first time the ball hit the advertising board) and the referee thought that Lewis was trying to waste time taking the goal kick. At the half-time whistle, Lewis tried to do a Mascherano and wanted to confront the referee. Luckily Precious did better than Alonso and managed to stop Lewis to try to get a red card. Then Lewis went to tell the poor ball boy off. LOL...

I read the latest issue of TIME magazine which featured the interview with Dalai Lama. After reading, my respect for him increases deeply. His views are progressive; he told his followers to reject Buddhist teatchings which science has proven to be untrue. He practices what he preaches; he rejects using violence in his quest for a free Tibet. He said that for Tibetan to say that Tibetans are good and Chinese are bad is equivalent to saying your left eye is good and your right eye is bad. Maybe I'm hearing from one side of the story because the Chinese claimed that he was the mastermind behind the recent unrest in Tibet.

Any Tibetans who are discriminated in their own homeland are feeling frustrated. For those Tibetans in exile, it was more frustrating because there were no progress in their pursuit of return to their Tibet. There were also talks of boycotting the Beijing Olympics by international community. But how much is it going to help the Tibetans?

It's inevitable that there will be a time when Dalai Lama passes away. The future will be even more uncertain by that time.

Looking forward to July because that's when my real holidays began. I have some travelling plans in mind but nothing is concrete yet. But I'm sure that it will be somewhere which I haven't gone before and somewhere exotic as well. Tibet perhaps?

溏心风暴

Heart of Greed: Damn nice!!

Although I have school last week, I still managed to finish watching 溏心风暴.

Watched 15 episodes on Tuesday alone... One helluva show...

Excellent script and acting; especially from the veterans like Louise Lee and Ha Yu... There were some really heart-warming moments.

Like when Tak Tak Dei was explaining why he told Big Mom what was happening at home despite her illness...

Or during the part when Big Bao was dying...

Simply touching...

Warning!! - Spoliers ahead

Alfred and Sheung Joi-sum did not end up together; it would probably make many people unhappy but it's kinda apt I think. Will they be happily ever after? Maybe but they seem not meant to be together. For one I was kinda glad that she ended up with Tak Tak Dei at the end.

The fate of the greedy in-laws and the bad guy who cheated Small Mom was unknown at the end of show. Hopefully they would have their retribution.

It got kinda sad to see an close-knit family destroyed by fighting over the inheritance. Luckily Small Mom came to her senses in the end. Amazingly the siblings were all united and generous; probably inherited from Big Bao.

Several things I've noticed in the show, all about Linda Chung

1. I think that she didn't wear skirt in the drama at all. Correct me if I'm wrong.

2. Everybody calls her by her full name Sheung Joi-sum, regardless of their relationship with her. Her best friends and boyfriend included. Thought they would use something less formal.

3. She keeps crying.

OK I confessed.

Linda is my favorite actress now.. LOL.

She looks kinda stunned here
