Irresponsible Neighbour

what a big dent....

I was going out to have dinner with family just now and to our rude shock we discovered that our family car was banged on its right side. My father had parked it near the carpark entrance at about 11 am and when we went down at about 5 pm it was already wrecked.

From the damages, we deduced that the car responsible was probably a white SUV because the there are white paint stuck on the dent and only the bumper of a SUV can inflict such a big dent. My father went to find the security guard while my mother, sister and I went around to see if the car responsible was still around. The security guards later joined in the search as well. We didn't find any car with dents and it was pretty obvious that the car was driven away.

The security guards said that they can only check the CCTV tomorrow because the cameras are still running now. The culprit definitely stays here because the carpark is restricted to residents only. It's only a matter of time that he/she will be found. Even if he or she can't be found, the management should be held responsible for the damages.

The whole incident leaves a bad taste in our mouths because the neighbour chose to run away. Probably he or she is just a new driver who is driving the parents' car. However that does not make him/her less liable. Perhaps I can use my law knowledge to sue for damages.
