I miss the month of December

No post was written in the month of December as I was away in India; the first three weeks were spent doing OCIP in the idyllic place of Yuksam in western Sikkim and the final week was split between the Golden Triangle of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur as well as the Sikh holy city of Amritsar.

I think that I've grown as a person after this trip; I was really inspired by the passion of KCC members in their continual efforts to improve their community. At the same time, I was made aware of my own flaws during the travels; being too quick in making judgement is one trait which I can still improve on.

Quite glad that I joined the OCIP; wouldn't have seen so much and experienced so much without going through it. Although there were hiccups, I guess that the entire experience was worth all the efforts put in.

Where did I go??

My laziness is the reason for such a long absence.

Although I'm doing only 5 modules (relative to the 5.5 which I did in each of the past two semesters), I have less free time. That is primarily down to the fact that I have been consistently doing most of my readings and I am involved in an YEP to India in December.

Only 10 weeks more till the India trip and now the team is still at the preparation stage. Being in the sponsorship team means that I have to do call up potential sponsors and send them the proposal. I will say that the team is quite lucky so far; there are high chances that we will be able to land some potentially awesome sponsorship deals. Not wanting to jinx the outcomes, I will only disclose when they are finalized.

In two weeks' time F1 will come to Singapore. I'm getting quite excited being the flag marshall for the event although it means that I have to miss the Merseyside derby. The three mid-terms (1 on the immediate monday after the race) also worry me. I don't know how will I prepare for them while spending the weekends on the track.

Last but not least, we finally beat the fucking scums! I'm absolutely delighted... maybe the only thing which can top this feeling is beating them at Old Trafford? LOL

Holidays Thus Far

This post will start with another lament that I hasn't been blogging lately. Well.. the workplace is kinda calm and I only have another week to go before the start of my summer holidays.

Hmmm... Let's start with my work. The website is more or less up but I can foresee more changes before it can go live. Basically I've been left to work on my own; without much interference or supervision. With no background knowledge of web design prior to the attachment, somehow I'm manage to negotiate all the html and javascript and put together something decent. Really have to thank all who gave their kind assistance along the way.

My supervisor is also the boss but he's away in China until end of the week. This means that I don't know who to ask to write the report for me. Can only wait and see...

Last Friday I saw Felicia Chin at the canteen where I usually had my lunch. I know no picture no talk but was too paiseh to ask to take picture. She was fashionably dressed (those high-cut boots) and her face is really small. Her make-up was very thick too. The logical explaination was that she had some photoshoot at Mediacorp Publishing (located in the same building as the canteen).

Tempted to ask whether she has boob job; in the end some journalist already posted the answers on Lianhe Zaobao. (Who believes anyway??)

So what's going to happen after the internship ends? Well the first thing will be trying to finish the application for exchange. Some of the courses have be approved so now I need to find the time to write my study plan and get the necessary academic references.

Then there will be a trip to Hong Kong with Mom and Sis. Haven't planned anything concrete yet because I couldn't find the Hong Kong Lonely Planet in the library. Hong Kong is quite standard; 买东西,吃东西,买东西,吃东西。。。Ocean Park perhaps? Will be going to Macau as well. From the pictures Macau's architecture looks very Europrean and the Casinos there seem extravagant.

Perhaps our trip will be subsidized by Stanley Ho, Sheldon Adelson or Steve Wynn. LOL...

There may be another short trip after HK but nothing's confirmed yet. This holidays will be pretty low-key compared to the last one. F1's training will be starting in July as well although it will be only on two weekends. Quite looking forward to the event although I hasn't been an ardent F1 fan.

By the way I've also sent in the application for the YEP in India and there will be an interview on Thursday. After seeing Ho Teck & Kendrick doing two YEPs, I think that YEP will be a great experience. Somehow things seem to be falling nicely into place as they are looking with people with web design capability (something which I've been doing over the past 2 months).

King Khan

Just finished reading a book on Shahrukh Khan which also offers outsiders insight into Bollywood. Bollywood is not the real India; Indians are never big fans of realism. Who will mind a little escapism in the cinema when they have to face the real India everyday?
