The CSI team decided to call it a day after the realization that a bak chang wasn’t worth all the efforts.
It would be easy to think that the culprit would be heaving a sigh of relief when the commotion died down.
Actually this was furthest away from the truth; the culprit was supremely confident that he/she would not get caught.
He/she would not need to worry since he/she was even able to get rid of the lotus leaves used to wrap the bak chang so effortlessly.
Deep in his/her mind, the culprit was planning for something bigger and bolder next time.
A nyonya chang perhaps?
End
The CSI team failed to gather any conclusive evidence and they couldn’t pinpoint any possible suspect.
If not, how would he/she be able to leave almost no evidence behind?
To be continued…
The bak chang was left inside the basket; without attracting any special attention. It was HJ’s breakfast and he decided to have it only after going to the washroom.
Who took the bak chang?
Immediately a CSI team was created to perform Operation Missing Bak Chang. Different hypotheses were circulating among those in the office.
Could it be the cleaning auntie? Nope… she hasn’t come in yet.
Did anyone check the dustbin? The dustbin is full and no bak chang is found there.
If everyone were to be present, the natural suspect would be Kevin, the office’s serial chapatti eater. However he only arrived after the discovery and therefore could not be classified as a suspect.
This has evolved to be a case of whodunit. Everyone present in the office during that timeframe is a suspect.
Anybody could be the culprit.
To be continued…
